It has definitely been some time since I’ve posted on here. Happy 2018! The end of 2017 for me became challenging. Peter and I moved in together, we attended two weddings (one I was a bridesmaid in), work became busy in what felt like overnight with new challenges, I applied to take my professional license exams, and I networked with a recruiter for opportunities which lead to a conversation with a potential employer.
Among all of the events and challenges, I realized how stressed out and unhappy I was.

Hi guys! It’s been a while since my last post. I apologize, things have been super crazy and seem to only be getting crazier.
Last weekend, Pete and I decided to do an extended weekend getaway to Washington D.C. (we were trying to stay fairly local). We had such a nice time last year that we wanted to go back this year. So Friday morning we headed down.

*Quick shout out to my 5 new followers (totaling 6 now) thank you so much!*
While we’re on the topic of good habits and inspiration, let’s throw goals in there. I want to share my biggest goal right now. A conversation came up at work with one of my co-workers who asked me what my goals were. My first instinct was “I don’t know, losing 20 pounds” but then I took a second and thought about it. I told her that in terms of work and my career (which turns out, was the context in which she was asking), I’d like to get my professional license (she is also in pursuit of hers) and be knowledgeable in field of interior design.

Just popping in really quick to share a few things I’m thankful for and inspired by recently.
First things first, I got my first follower! I’m so excited to see that someone else wants to read what I have to say – even if it is just rambling sometimes. So thank you so much for the follow – you’ve inspired me to keep going! A close girlfriend of mine recently reached out and told me she found my blog and we had talked about how she was super excited and loved reading it. She’s also even thought about starting her own! So those are a few things that have got me really excited and inspired.
I’m super busy at work (which is always good). I’ve recently been – like I said in the previous post, wanting to start getting some good habits in place, so that’s something I’m also working on. Project Me? Yeah that’s what we’ll call it. I also just bought Sophia Amoruso’s book #GIRLBOSS and have started reading that – awesome so far. I also find her truly inspiring and motivating. I posted a link to her book in my last post.
For right now I think that’s it. Just working on Project Me (which I’d also like to think I’m on my own version of the GIRLBOSS track) and staying positively inspired. Happy hump day! We’re almost to Friday! And today is the first day of summer.
It’s June. I don’t know that I’m one to set huge goals for myself at the beginning of the year but if I do, I don’t write them down (ugh the worst). But who says that I can’t start setting a few goals right now…just short of 6 months later….
Blogging has been something I wanted to be consistent with. I’m slowly but surely finding that I need to put time and work into it. Which is a good thing. There are also a few other things I’d like to be consistent with and put time and work into. I’ll share a few.
WAKING UP EARLY
Typically on any given day, I wake up around 6:30, have coffee in bed, and start getting ready for work. For a while, I was waking up at 5:30 to have an hour to myself before all the stresses of the day hit. That slowly changed, as I would hit snooze over and over. Eventually, I started feeling pretty stressed out and was rushing to work.
This is going to be my declaration of waking up earlier again to have 30-45 minutes to myself before leaving the house. I plan to use this time to think about what I need to do for the day, maybe come up with a blog post, or even use it as a small window to help study for my professional license. Regardless, I plan to use this time to help with productivity.
