I’m so excited to share this with you guys. My mom and her husband bought a house down the shore about three years ago. Slowly but surely they are giving it all the love and updates it needs. I’m excited because this update, I got to be apart of.
They recently had the kitchen re-done. New layout, cabinets, counter tops, flooring, appliances etc. What they didn’t have done yet was the back splash. This is where I got to get involved.

As much as I wish that photo was our dining room it isn’t. But, today I’m sharing the dining room in our apartment. This little project was totally unplanned. It came about a few weeks ago during a brunch Pete and I hosted.

It’s finally March – which means we are that much closer to warmer weather and everything winter goes away until next year. That also means new spring decor! This year, I made a promise to myself to keep with a budget every month and to become more of the ‘do it yourself’ type to also try to save money. I’ve only started out small but wanted to share my little project!

With time off over the holidays and several episodes of Fixer Upper later, I decided to take a fresh look at our bedroom. Up until that point our bedroom reflected me. While we’re on the topic of good habits and inspiration, let’s throw goals in there. I want to share my biggest goal right now. A conversation came up at work with one of my co-workers who asked me what my goals were. My first instinct was “I don’t know, losing 20 pounds” but then I took a second and thought about it. I told her that in terms of work and my career (which turns out, was the context in which she was asking), I’d like to get my professional license (she is also in pursuit of hers) and be knowledgeable in field of interior design.

“Biophilia describes the inate relationship between humans and nature, and concerns the need we have to be continually connected to nature.” – Human Spaces
I was first introduced to the topic of Biophilia at a work event. I quickly began to realize how much I could relate to this, I always feel better when I am outside than inside. Who would have thought there was a term for it? The work event was talking about bringing nature into the work place to help increase well-being, productivity, and creativity.
But in this case, I’m bringing the biophilia into my home. To help boost these qualities from the time I go to bed to the time I wake up. Plus, plants add the prettiest pop of color.
